New to online betting or casino? These are the essential terms you need to know before you play.
Asian Handicap
A style of football betting that eliminates the draw outcome by giving one team a fractional goal advantage or disadvantage. Popular in Southeast Asia, it narrows the betting market to just two outcomes and typically offers better value than standard 1X2 betting.
Over-Under (Totals)
A bet on whether the combined score of both teams in a match will be over or under a set number set by the bookmaker. For example, "Over 2.5 goals" in an EPL match means you win if three or more goals are scored.
Odds Formats
Betting odds can be expressed in decimal (1.85), fractional (17/20), or American (-118) format. Decimal is the most commonly used on Asian and Malaysian platforms — your total return equals your stake multiplied by the decimal odds.
RTP (Return to Player)
The long-term theoretical percentage of all wagered money that a slot or game will pay back to players. A game with 96.5% RTP will statistically return RM96.50 for every RM100 wagered over millions of spins. Higher RTP = better long-term value for players.
House Edge
The mathematical advantage the casino holds over players in the long run. It's the inverse of RTP — a game with 96.5% RTP has a 3.5% house edge. Blackjack played with basic strategy has one of the lowest house edges of any casino game, often below 0.5%.
Wagering Requirement
Also called rollover, this is how many times you must bet your bonus amount (or bonus + deposit) before you can withdraw winnings derived from that bonus. For example, a RM100 bonus with a 20x wagering requirement means you need to place RM2,000 in total bets.
Slot Volatility
Describes the risk level of a slot game. Low volatility slots pay out smaller amounts more frequently, while high volatility slots pay less often but with potentially much larger wins. Medium volatility balances both — best for most casual players.
Progressive Jackpot
A jackpot that grows continuously as players across a network of casinos bet on the same linked slot. A small percentage of every bet contributes to the pool. These can grow to MYR hundreds of thousands before being triggered by a single lucky player.
Cashback
A promotional rebate where the casino returns a percentage of your net losses over a defined period (daily, weekly, or monthly). For example, 5% weekly cashback on RM1,000 in losses returns RM50 to your account — a soft safety net for active players.
